Geographically fenced zones (Geofence Zones) can be created on-screen to show permissible or restricted areas for your vehicle(s) to operate in. These zones ensure vehicles do not stray from their designated routes. If a restricted zone is entered, a variety of pre-programmed responses can be carried out.
If a Geofence Zone is Green then the vehicle must stay within that area, if it moves outside of the area you will be automatically notified by e-mail or text and the offence details – driver, vehicle, location, time etc will be recorded in the system log. Conversely if a Geofence Zone is Red, then the vehicle must not enter it or the programmed responses can be carried out.
Geofence Zones are created using the i-Tech web browser. Once the central point of the zone has been established on the map, you can specify the width and shape (polygon or freehand) around it. You can programme the system to perform a variety of actions in response to a Geofence violation, e.g. automatically disabling the engine or audibly warning the driver etc.
In commercial applications a user may be responsible for tracking several vehicles simultaneously. The system allows the user to display which vehicles they want to see on-screen by using tick boxes. Geofence notifications can be switched on and off using the internet web browser or remotely using a touchtone telephone.
